Individual tickets to the event are $10.
Sponsorship for the event is $150 and includes 2 tickets to the event. If you would like, you may bring a door prize with your name on it. We will recognize you in the program.
The morning of the breakfast, we will be accepting monetary donations for the Maryland Food Bank - Eastern Shore.

This interactive workshop for 4-H youth will allow you to discover the essentials for starting your own bee colony. Fun activities will be included.

Contest Rules:
•Open to Allegany County 4-H Youth (ages 5 to 18 as of Jan. 1, 2025)
• Entries can use the following decorating techniques - Painted, Carved, or Mixed Media (Paper, yarn, glitter, flowers, etc.)
• Create a design on only one side of the pumpkin.
• Submit a photo of one pumpkin. 4-Her should not be in the photo.
• Include your name, 4-H age, and primary 4-H club in the email.
• Entries must be submitted by October 24, 2025, to jparrish@umd.edu.One inner from each age group will receive a fall-themed prize. (Clover, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior)

Master Gardeners will be on hand to give tips and tricks to make your home garden flourish, help troubleshoot tricky growing situations and offer encouragement on creating the perfect garden for your space. This month’s topic is “Holiday Houseplants”.
The Master of Extension Education features a multi-disciplinary program with core courses focused on principles of Extension in needs assessment, program development, evaluation, and social science research methodology as well as a suite of supportive elective courses in a variety of Extension specialty areas. Graduates with Extension education experiences are prepared for dynamic careers in secondary and post-secondary education, non-profits, government, and leadership roles in enterprise.

We're excited to welcome keynote speaker, Sanjay K. Rai, secretary of the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC).
In his role, Rai is responsible for statewide policies for Maryland's 14 public 4-year institutions, 16 community colleges, 32 private institutions, and more than 140 private career schools. His programming and partnerships have expanded educational access, improved student success, and reduced achievement gaps for all learners. He will deliver a talk on the use of hashtagAI to improve instruction and engagement with students.
The event will also feature a free lunch and a student poster competition featuring the excellent work of our students. Guests may also register on-site the day of the event.

Visit the Fall Home & Garden Show during one of the afternoons to attend our free presentations about Native Plants (10/17 at 2pm), Putting Your Garden to Bed (10/18 at 2pm), Winter Sowing (10/18 at 3pm), Compost (10/19 at 2pm), and Growing Herbs Indoors (10/19 at 3pm). Winter sowing demonstrations 10/18 at the 15th minute of each hour. Find us at booth 809 to learn the tips and techniques for this easy, cheap and reliable way of growing native plants and early season vegetables.
