Master Gardener volunteers will hold a table in the lobby of the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library to help answer garden/landscape-related questions; volunteers will also have give-aways, publications, and other resources to help you get growing this fall.
You can find us from 4-6pm on Thursdays, September 12th and October 10th. Feel free to bring in plant or insect samples!

Register through 4-H Online. Contestants will upload photos of their entries when they register for the contest in 4-H Online. No physical pieces will be submitted.

Virtual Art Show: All exhibits will be posted via a slide show on the UMD Horse Facebook page and on the UMD Horse Extension webpage. Award winners will be recognized in the slide show.
You are invited to the AAUFRC Urban Farm Tour Ice Cream Social at the Anne Arundel Extension Office located at 97 Dairy Lane, Gambrills, MD 21054 on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:30 PM. Ice cream will be served at 5:00 pm followed by a walking farm tour that begins at 6:00 pm.
This year the Anne Arundel County Extension Urban Farming Research Clinic will highlight: hops, wine grapes, apples, peaches, blackberries, sweet corn and flour corn varieties, pumpkins, gourds, high tunnel vegetables and herbs, cut flowers, market gardening, and bee keeping. Ice Cream Served at 5:00 PM Walking Farm Tour begins at 6:00 PM This event is free. However, a reserved meal ticket is required. If you need special assistance to participate, please contact the Anne Arundel County Extension office at 301-226-7470 by July 15th.
You are invited to attend the 2024 LESREC Fruit and Vegetable Twilight Tour on August 6. Come listen to extension educators and specialists showcase their vegetable and berry research plots. This event is free, but registration is requested for a dinner count.
This twilight tour will feature watermelons, sweet corn, and tomatoes.

Description: Join University of Maryland Extension and NRCS for an educational pasture walk at the University of Maryland Western Maryland Research and Education Center in Keedysville, MD (Washington county).
Extension educators are working on an ongoing mixed-species grazing management study utilizing annual forages as a means to extend the grazing season and will discuss grazing and parasite management, mixed-species grazing, and strategies for working annual forages into a pasture system. A variety of warm-season annual mixtures have been established at the reserach station, discussion will also include options for annual mixtures and pros/cons for a variety of annual forage species and mixtures.
